THE POSITION

If the answer is yes to these questions, then our adult patients with mental health issues can use your help at our facility's workshop program. You'll be responsible for providing quality vocational adjustment services in a sheltered workshop setting under the direction of the shop's supervisor. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Vocational Adjustment Services Worker (VASW) is a professional employee whose major responsibilities involve operations in areas of Vocational Adjustment Services (VAS) relating to the Patient Employee, Novice and Satellite Workshops and the Hospital's Volunteer Resources service; also, the VASW is responsible for operating Community Integrated Employment (CIE) and the Community Employment Readiness Programs (CERP). Specifically, an employee in this class designs, implements, and evaluates vocational adjustment and volunteer services segments, of individual treatment plans to patients. Programs are characterized by activities which overlap or combine various aspects of vocational adjustment service. This position is under the immediate direction of the Vocational Adjustment Services Manager reporting to the Director of Therapeutic Activities Services (DTAS) and is overseen by the Clinical Services Department through the office of the Chief Medical Officer.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Operates the Novice and Satellite Workshops, Volunteer Resources service and the Patient Employee Program; Evaluates, assigns, and refers patients to hospital work areas such as but not limited to Novice/Satellite Workshop, Housekeeping, Clothes Rack, Sunshine Store, Snack Cart, Library, Greenhouse. Instructs and assesses patient performance in Community Employment Readiness Program. Assists patients in aspects of Community Integrated Employment.
DECISION MAKING: The person assigned to this position does not supervise other staff; however duties involve the monitoring and supervision of patients within the VAS programs. The person in this position makes programming and patient care decisions based on training and job knowledge, and in consultation with other professional staff and supervisors.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Qualifications:

+ Minimum Experience and Training Requirements -Graduation from a four year
college or university with major course work in Vocational Rehabilitation, Vocational Education or Counseling, or a related Human Services field; OR four years of experience in the field of Vocational Adjustment Services for those with mental or physical illness or handicaps; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
+ Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Lackawanna County. If no eligible candidates who live within Lackawanna County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster.
